March is here and with it comes a taste of spring, St. Patrick's Day, and plenty of other fun events and celebrations! As the weather slowly changes. the activities really start to pick up in Philadelphia! Here are our pics for the top 10 family-friendly activities this month!

In 2025, the PHS Philadelphia Flower Show exhibits will take you into a new world of imaginative designs and boundless inspiration. The theme, Gardens of Tomorrow, invites you to explore the future through the eyes of visionary designers, expert gardeners, and passionate green enthusiasts as they merge nature's brilliance with human ingenuity.
Alongside all the Flower Show elements you know and love, like the world's biggest plant competition, unique shopping experiences, and activities for all ages, you'll see and hear what the most innovative plant experts from around world think the future of gardening will be through their exhibits at our Know to Grow speaker series.
Bartram's Garden Little Explorers Program
First Wednesday of every month, 10:00 AM - 11:30 AM
Little Explorers Returns March 5th! Join the staff at Bartram's Garden for exploration, a garden walk and stories! Happens the first Wednesday of every month through November. Monthly themes are:
March 5th: Mud Month!
April 2nd: Grow It!
May 7th: Nest & Eggs!
June 4th: Flowers!
July 2nd: Insects!
August 6th: Water!
September 3rd: Bees!
October 1st: The Color of Leaves!
November 5th: Seed Collectors!
Feel free to bring a snack, one adult chaperone is required for every 2 children. This program is designed for children ages 2-4. Pre-registration required.
Ramadan Celebration at The Please Touch Museum
March 8th, 9:30 AM - 4:00 PM
The Please Touch Museum welcomes families to join them for a day of programming highlighting the month of Ramadan. Listen in on a special percussion performance, make lanterns in their Makerspace, and learn about Arabic calligraphy in the Creative Arts Studio.

As always, meet Betsy Ross, herself, as she works in her upholstery shop. She can share the story of the first flag and so much more. She was a business owner, patriot, single mother, and entrepreneur and led a fascinating life during exciting times. Ask her all about it!
Sensory-Friendly Day at The National Constitution Center
March 9th, 10:00 AM - 5:00 PM
Join the National Constitution Center for its Sensory-Friendly Days, an accessible learning experience for people of all abilities and their families. Visitors with sensory-processing challenges can experience the museum in a secure and comfortable environment that includes modified programming and emotionally safe spaces with sensory objects, comfortable seating, and cool blue lighting.
Animal Tales with the Philadelphia Zoo at the Durham Library
March 13th, 3:30 PM - 4:30 PM
Each month the Durham Library will host the Philadelphia Zoo! Come listen to a story read by the librarian, then meet an animal from the story and learn more from educators from the Philadelphia Zoo.
Holi Celebration at Penn Museum
March 15th, 10:00 AM - 4:00 PM
Holi, the Festival of Colors, is a Hindu celebration of the arrival of spring! Bring the family for the celebration at the Penn Museum! There will be traditional storytelling, crafts, live music, and dance performances. The highlight will be the joyful color throw!

The 2025 Philadelphia St. Patrick's Day Parade will be held on March 16th!

Parade Mass 9:00 a.m. at St. Patrick's Church
20th and Locust Streets, Philadelphia
Mass will be celebrated by Archbishop Nelson Perez and Chaplain Father Kevin Gallagher. The procession is led by Joe Tobin and the Philadelphia Emerald Society Pipe Band. Music provided by Bishop Shanahan High School Choir,

Philadelphia Flyers Girls Try Hockey for Free Clinic
March 22nd, 1:00 PM - 3:00 PM
Join the Flyers for the first annual Girls Try Hockey for Free Clinic! For ages 5-12, equipment will be provided and you can learn from an all female coaching staff! No experience necessary, lunch will be provided, and there will be giveaways for all participants! There will be 2 dates: March 1st at the Flyers Training Center and March 22nd at IceWorks Skating! Pre-registration is required to attend.
